Taco Bell is looking for a highly motivated individual with demonstrated strength in analytics, problem solving, intellectual curiosity, and relationship management to join as an Associate Manager on the Strategic Development and Analysis (SD&A) team, which reports to the CFO. The SD&A team is responsible for driving Taco Bell growth and shareholder value via strategic asset and capital management.

The SD&A team is a dynamic point of entry into the Taco Bell organization, often serving as a launching point for various parts of the Taco Bell and Yum businesses. The SD&A team consists of a mix of former consultants, recent MBA hires, and real estate experts.

The chief responsibility of the SD&A Associate Manager is to support asset development within Taco Bell. The individual will be responsible for providing financial analysis, insights and recommendations on all stages of development investment decision-making, from market planning to store remodeling. Key deliverables will include:


    - Lead M&A deal teams
    -

      - Determine profit impact of development opportunities

        - Pro forma development

        - Deal modeling

      - Cross-functional teaming to develop assumptions and implementation plans

      - Cross-functional teaming to complete diligence and negotiations

    - Recommend potential development and re-development opportunities
    -

      - Assess strength and viability of available trade areas

      - Determine profit impact of development opportunities

        - Pro forma development

        - Break-even analysis

        - IRR / NPV modeling

      - Present recommendations to Executive Development Committee

    - Provide reporting and analysis on recent development investments
    -

      - Calculate sales impact and recovery

      - Review capital budgets

      - Determine financial returns

      - Ensure all financial ramifications of development are incorporated into the plan and forecast

    - Prepare presentations for Taco Bell and YUM! Executive Teams
    - Support Franchisee Development through best-practice sharing and development services

The position is ideal for individuals with high accountability, a partnership mentality and a comfort turning facts into recommendations. This is a demanding role where the individual will be a critical member of a cross-functional development team within the company. Therefore, communication skills are also critical. The individual must be able to influence cross-functional business partners and effectively provide the Finance point-of-view on complex business issues to team members and senior management from Finance, Real Estate, Architecture & Engineering, Construction, and Franchise Business Management.


Education and Experience:


    - BA required; analytical degree preferred (e.g., Economics, Mathematics, Engineering)
    - MBA preferred
    - 5-7 years work experience (experience in real estate development or financial analysis helpful)
    - Strong internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking and desire to have a large impact on our organization
    - Superb interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to partner well with other team members and interface effectively with all levels of management
    - Strong organizational skills, with ability to work independently and multi-task in a complex, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment
    - Resourceful nature, with strong problem-solving and customer-service orientation
    - Experience in financial modeling and Powerpoint; Strong Excel skills is a must
