The Associate Manager of Learning leads the role based curriculum development for Taco Bell. Supports and coaches others in doing instructional design work. May also act as a team member or project manager on various projects based on expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

Assessment, Design & Development

· Independently assesses business problems, recommends solutions, and resources work through direct report, contractors or third party vendor

· Designs learning strategies and solutions for any subject matter and in any delivery method. A special focus on eLearning design, including but not limited to WBT and Live Virtual Classroom.

· Follows the ADDIE model and performs Instructional Systems Design (ISD) techniques. Creates and maintains tools, templates, and standards that support the instructional design and development process, and recommends improvements.

· Creates complex courseware that includes high-level content development (Bloom's Taxonomy) and using advanced features of multiple development software tools. Includes incorporating mixed media such as graphics, animation, text, audio and video.

Solution Implementation & Evaluation

· Works with technical partners and SMEs to test and implement learning solutions. Demonstrates a growing proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues in various authoring tools, the learning management system, and learning delivery systems (such as virtual classroom and learner collaboration sites).

· Monitors reaction and impact measures, evaluates the solution's effectiveness, and implements changes as necessary.

Leading a Team

· Leads one direct report and multiple contractors depending on project workload

· Provides occasional education and coaching on instructional design subject matter to others

Best Practices

· Researches internal and external instructional design and learning technology trends, tools, and practices, and develops and implements a strategy for building awareness and adoption

· Educates and advises others on the subject matter, and sustains an updated global repository for related tools and materials. Can include overseeing and developing content of learning options and online systems, creating and maintaining online resources, creating and maintaining ongoing communication plans, evolving the program based on current best practices.

Project Management

· Manages learning and development initiatives and projects. Includes leading, planning, communicating, managing and evaluating scope, resources, and time parameters to achieve desired results.

· Acts as team member on various projects.

Vendor Management

· Maintains relationships with existing product/service vendors as assigned.

· Manages a new vendor selection process, from the initial request for proposal to the implementation of the product/service.


Education and Experience

· Bachelors degree or equivalent certification in Instructional Design. Masters preferred.

· 5-7 years experience in adult education, instructional design, distance learning and eLearning.

· 1-2 years leading a team

· Extensive experience in designing learning solutions in a variety of blended delivery methods, including traditional classroom, virtual classroom, web-based/eLearning, self-study, and other performance support materials by using multiple development tools and video/audio including Storyline, Testcraft, Saba Centra, and Captivate, mobile learning, and other electronic performance support materials in various media formats.

· Experience in creating and implementing AICC/SCORM compliance products with Learning Management Systems (LMSs), Microsoft SharePoint, or other systems supporting learning technologies.

· Practical experience using established methodologies in all stages of the instructional design process, including analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

· Advanced knowledge and application of instructional systems design methodology and adult learning theory.

· Solid knowledge and application of eLearning development process and technologies.

· Ability to communicate effectively, includes the ability to present information, ideas and arguments in ways that facilitate understanding.

· Strong drive to achieve results; takes accountability.

· Excellent problem identification and root problem identification skills.
